Your agreement will have all the details we discussed. Once the agreement is completed, you will be sent a email to review and sign. We try to make things super easy for you, but if you have any questions, just message us.
3 Levels of Representation
Phoenix Rising
In other agencies, this might be called the development board. We call it Phoenix Rising. You’re fully signed and represented by Phoenix Talent, with access to the same core representation, resources, opportunities, and support as our broader roster. At this stage, our team places additional focus on helping you develop your brand, portfolio, skills, positioning, experience, and overall marketability so you’re increasingly ready for bigger opportunities.
You’ll still be considered and submitted for projects whenever we believe you’re a strong fit. Some opportunities may be independent films, student productions, community projects, portfolio-building work, or lower-paid and occasionally unpaid projects where the experience, footage, credits, relationships, or exposure can provide meaningful career value.
As you gain experience, strengthen your materials, demonstrate professionalism, and become increasingly competitive in the market, our team may move you onto the Phoenix Roster.
Phoenix Roster
The Phoenix Roster is our core group of professional, market-ready talent. You’re fully signed and represented by Phoenix Talent, and our team believes you have the experience, materials, professionalism, and marketability to be actively presented to clients, casting professionals, brands, producers, and other industry partners on a more regular and reliable basis.
You’ll be considered regularly for opportunities that fit your look, skills, experience, location, interests, and career goals. You may even see specific Phoenix Preferred Partners looking at you for specific roles.
Being on the Roster doesn’t mean your development stops. We’ll continue helping you strengthen your positioning, expand your experience, build industry relationships, and pursue increasingly valuable opportunities. Talent who consistently book, deliver great work, earn strong client feedback, represent themselves and Phoenix exceptionally well, and demonstrate continued professional growth may eventually be invited to join Phoenix Signature, our highest roster distinction.
Phoenix Signature
Phoenix Signature is our highest roster distinction, reserved for a small group of proven talent who consistently demonstrate exceptional professionalism, reliability, marketability, and performance. Signature talent have built a strong track record, represent themselves and Phoenix exceptionally well, and have earned the confidence of our team, clients, and industry partners.
They’re the talent we’re proud to hold up as examples of what professional representation can become. Signature talent are usually working full time or near it, with extensive experience and a reputation to deliver every single time.
As Signature talent, you’ll receive our highest level of positioning and promotion, with priority consideration for major opportunities, direct introductions to trusted industry relationships, and increased visibility with clients and members of the Phoenix Preferred Network. Signature isn’t something you apply for or purchase. It’s a distinction our team extends to talent who have earned it through their work, reputation, growth, and results.
Exclusive vs. Non-Exclusive
What's the difference? Which one should you choose?
Exclusive
Phoenix becomes your home. We’re involved in the opportunities you pursue, whether they come through Phoenix, a casting platform, an industry connection, or something you find yourself.
That means you can focus more on auditioning, performing, and building your career while we help handle the business behind it, including submissions, negotiations, contracts, usage, invoicing, collections, and payment.
Because we have visibility into the bigger picture, our team can provide more consistent guidance, protect your positioning, and help make sure opportunities work together toward your goals.
For now, we offer exclusive representation in the Midwest only. All exclusive agreements are non-exclusive outside of the Midwest until we expand our Talent Partner reach to other markets - at which time you will be give the option to keep those territories non-exclusive, or update them to exclusive.

You get the freedom to work with Phoenix while continuing to pursue opportunities independently or through other representation.
We’ll submit you for Phoenix opportunities and provide our full support on the work we manage, but anything you pursue outside of Phoenix remains yours to manage. That can mean handling your own submissions, negotiations, contracts, usage terms, invoicing, collections, and payments without Phoenix’s systems or support.
It offers the most flexibility, but you may occasionally leave money or better terms on the table when we aren’t involved to advocate for you.
All non-exclusive agreements for the entire United States of America, coupled with a clause that any existing exclusive agreements in other territories will override our representation in those markets.

These FAQs may help
We've been there before, not knowing exactly what it means to sign with a talent agency. In our case, we're really unique, so even if you have been here before, maybe you should look over these details to clear up a few things.
Do I have to get permission before changing my appearance?
No. It's your appearance, and you don't need our permission to change it. We simply require you to notify us of substantial changes so we can keep your profile and materials accurate.
The exception is when we're actively negotiating or have booked work based on a specific appearance. Otherwise, you're free to express yourself however you wish.
What markets do you represent?
Phoenix Talent represents talent nationally, with a core focus on the Chicago, Rockford, Madison, and Milwaukee markets. With talent that works around the nation, we're keen on all markets and partnerships. Our deepest connections are in the Midwest, so our core roster starts here in the heart of the USA.
Do you book union, non-union, or both?
Currently, we represent talent for non-union opportunities. As a new agency, Phoenix Talent is not yet SAG-AFTRA franchised, but we intend to pursue franchising as we grow.
How do I know I'll do better with you vs. on my own?
We can't guarantee bookings for all of our talent, but what we can guarantee is that - if selected for our roster - you'll be among some of the first to be given opportunities with our vast network of producers, writers, cinematographers, and brand clients.
The client always has final say who they take - and that comes down to how well you communicate, present, and sell your unique talents. This is where we shine. Showing you in the best light possible.
Not to mention that added value of the events, networking, digital presence, and more people working on your behalf.
How much do you charge?
First off - we will NEVER charge you a fee to join our roster. If we offer to represent you, that offer comes with no strings attached - no added fees, no "pay for us to add you to the website" bullshit. If we want you - that's FREE.
We collect our fees in 2 ways.
1) from the negotiated rate on paid gigs, which is usually 20% in addition to the fee we negotiate for you (e.g. session is $1000 + 20% agency, client pays $1200 total). This basically means you are paying nothing.
2) For specific services that you choose to hire us for, such as: featured talent profile, custom portfolio page (outside of agency site), print materials, photoshoots, talent reels, etc. These are always optional, and you'll know exactly what they cost before you choose to proceed.
Are you exclusive, or non-exclusive?
Both. We offer exclusive and non-exclusive representation, with agreements structured around each talent’s career, market, goals, and existing representation.
What if I book a gig on my own? Can I do that?
Yes, you are always allowed to book gigs on your own. We never want to cripple your opportunities.
On non-exclusive representation agreements, you're free to book whatever you want, whenever you want, and we won't collect any payments or provide any services for these bookings unless you want us to. We strongly encourage you to forward those opportunities to your Phoenix Talent Partner, so we can help you get the gig and negotiate the best possible pay and terms.
If we are in an exclusive representation agreement, we require all negotiations and billing to run through our systems for all of our talent, and when there is no billable agency fee, we collect a 10% fee from the payment to cover our fees. Simply forward the booking details to your Talent Partner, and we will get to work.
Does it cost anything to apply or sign with Phoenix Talent?
Never. There is no fee to apply or sign with Phoenix Talent. Legitimate representation should make money when you make money, not by charging you for the opportunity to be represented. If an agency requires you to pay just to sign, be cautious.
Can I still pursue my own opportunities?
Absolutely. We encourage our talent to be proactive. With non-exclusive representation, you're free to pursue and manage your own opportunities. With exclusive representation, you can still find your own work, but bookings must be processed through Phoenix Talent in accordance with your representation agreement.
Just remember, if we're not helping you negotiate and book the opportunity, you may be leaving money on the table, and we won't have the chance to expand that relationship for you. Plus, nearly all of the bookings we help with end up paying more than if you booked on your own.

Do you represent minors?
Yes. We believe talented people deserve opportunities and support at every stage of their development. Phoenix Talent represents qualified minors with the involvement of their parent or legal guardian and in accordance with applicable laws and requirements governing minors in the entertainment industry.
